Toni Huata was recently interviewed by Emanuella de Ruiter from The Big Idea. In her interview, she talks about finding her way to music, her passion for Māori music and her vision for the new role at SOUNZ.

Toni Huata, Kaihautū Puoro Māori – Director of Māori Music, who started in the new role earlier this year, is responsible for the implementation and development of SOUNZ’s Māori Music Strategy.
“I’ve been looking at different festivals and events with a kaupapa Māori nature that I could support throughout the country. I will be looking at going to these events and meeting with people face to face so that I can talk about our vision here.”
