Yesterday, Toni Huata was interviewed by Tema Hemi from Māori television about her new video release Tahuri Mai in celebration of NZ Music Month.

Toni says, “I’m excited to release my fourth video ‘Tahuri Mai’ to celebrate this month of NZ and Māori music, the spirit of aroha, my husband Adrian’s birthday and on Mother’s Day. So many kaupapa but all relevant to the celebration of this song. We released Tahuri Mai to Māori radio as a single initially, and with this new video, it is now tracking 14 on Te Rerenga – The Journey album.

I love how Tahuri Mai has developed into this sunshine, happy feeling of Summer. It reminds me of our honeymoon in Vanuatu and travels to sunny places throughout Aotearoa, the Pacific and the world. Thanks to Paddy, Pos and Pat for their spirit in this song. The video follows the day in the lives of a young couple and takes us to stunning locations in Wellington. Many thanks to Scott, Hayley, Canaan, Mat and our beautiful talent John and Mariarangi. Ngā mihi aroha ki a koutou katoa”.
