We are delighted to announce that our redeveloped and new look website, SOUNZ Online, is now ready to use at the familiar address www.sounz.org.nz. We have been working with Rabid Technologies on the upgrading project since October last year.
What does this mean?
We are now able to share New Zealand music with you better than before. You can now discover and access all Resound content in one place: view Resound concert videos or listen to Resound audio, all produced with our partner RNZ Concert for the project funded by NZ On Air. You can browse through our online catalogue of New Zealand music, including thousands of scores and resources available to buy and for hire. And let’s not forget the information about our composers, interviews with them, articles and features about NZ music and information for educators, students and much more.
New look SOUNZ
You will also notice the new look SOUNZ Online. The new visual identity, created by Strategy Creative, will be introduced across all SOUNZ’s online and digital platforms over the weeks to come.
Kia ora
The new website also embraces the country’s heritage and diversity by introducing te reo Māori translations on key areas of the site navigation. This ongoing translation process aims to make the site, and our work, more accessible to everyone in NZ.
DigitalNZ
From now on, information from SOUNZ’s website will be also available through DigitalNZ, New Zealand’s largest cultural database and the search engine for New Zealand culture, providing greater access and discoverability of New Zealand music.
Issues?
As with any new system, we expect that there will be a period of settling in and discovery of any associated issues. If you do come across any problems or have any questions about the new site please email us at info@sounz.org.nz. We will continue to add content and to fix possible issues over the coming months and, as a living site, there will be continuous updates in the future.
Thank you
We would like to acknowledge the Lottery Grants Board for providing significant funding for this upgrade. We also received support from Creative New Zealand, NZ Music Operators Association, Stout Trust and Buddle Findlay, and thank each for their generosity in making this upgrade possible.
