What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Spending time with my whānau & friends, Kapa Haka, taking part in wānanga and raising my tamaiti, Iharaira alongside his cousins (my nieces & nephews)
What is your earliest musical memory?
Being sung to by my Kuia and my parents, a lot of the old waiata I know came from that time, being predominantly Tūhoe and Tairāwhiti waiata and moteatea and every time I hear them, they feel like home to me. Also receiving a stereo for my 10th birthday and recording all my favourite songs from the radio and getting annoyed at the radio hosts who would start talking near the end of the song lol
Where would you like to go on vacation if you had a month off and money was no object?
Back to Hawai’i with Te Hau Tawhiti haka whānau & not for a vacation but to extend on our learning and time spent with our kanaka maoli, we’ll take the babies next time though ktk iykyk!
You’re never too important to be kind ☺
