Many thanks to everyone for giving energy, support and aroha to our Hui Wāhine on the Saturday.
From the lead up to the action, the stellar support of SOUNZ kaimahi, our kaiwhakataki, kaimirimiri, kaimanaaki and all that attended made this wānanga rich and full of goodness.
The knowledge shared, gave a greater sense of understanding and appreciation for our tikanga, reo Māori, reo oro, pūrākau, māramataka, hā and puoro healing.
Many talented artists shared their stories through conversation and song and te reo Māori activities ran throughout the wānanga engaging all in a fun and inspirational way.
Acknowledging our Matatiki, our kai hākari with hangi was stunning, and being a hui wāhine the whānau mirimiri and express facials were fully attended throughout the wānanga.
It was very important to maintain our holistic approach for this Hui Wāhine and create a space that was safe for all to reside in. The selection of Te Haukainga to house our wānanga was essential and we thank Taki Rua whānau whānui for supporting SOUNZ and this kaupapa.
As we navigate and nurture our families, lives, artistry and careers the collective of mana wāhine in the wānanga was empowering. We also hope future co-creations continue from the seeds planted in this wānanga. Many thanks also to our mana tāne that graciously supported our Hui Wāhine.
